"Singleness is about adventure, self-esteem and growing-up. And it’s about you owning your soul, until it’s time to give it away to the one who gives it back to you, with theirs. Here’s my word of wisdom from the other side of singleness: It’s who you are when you’re single that sets the course for who you’ll be for the rest of your life. Be whole, and yes, holy-don’t give yourself away. You’ll miss the pieces you let go."
Ok, some stranger just kicked me right square in my backside! I spend so much time trying to cover up the fact that I’m single. Not because it bothers me, but because I’m afraid of what other people will think….wait…I think that means it bothers me:) I think mostly I’m just embrrassed. I mean I know God has a plan for me and part of that plan is singleness right now….but is that what other people see when they look at me? Or do they see a poor little girl who needs to be set-up because she clearly has no game:)
UHHHHHH! Why do I waste my time worrying about that?! Our lives are so fleeting…so short. And this is the way God has planned mine out. And He is good…always…so I know this plan is good…the best plan possible for me! Why don’t I take more advantage of the freedom I have in singleness?
I’m feeling an exit strategy coming on:) Might be time to vacate fun-roe and go…somewhere…anywhere.
Africa to work in an orphanage?
Atlanta to work in a bakery?
Athens to help some friends?
Middle of nowhere to tell some peeps about Jesus who’ve never heard about him?
I’m game Lord….let’s go!
Ok, married people! Time for you to chime in. What’s the one thing you wish you would’ve done while you were still single? I need some inspiration!

bakery? did you say bakery?

i would have loved to do the orphanage thing. i would have also loved to move away somewhere fabulous just so i could say “when I lived in New York City…” I work with a single 25ish girl. She told me today that she sometimes goes out on sympathy dates with guys just so her friends won’t hassle her about dating. you don’t do that do you?

It has been so long since I have been single….but what you are sayin’ about just picking up everything & doing something exciting is a chance of a lifetime. And my thoughts have been towards doing an Africa trip to an orphanage or somewhere.

you have such a talent for cooking and cakes,
pursue this. eveyone loves your cakes and you
get so excited when you get to do one. this is
genuinely a gift you have.

i have the solution. you and your athens friends will relocate together and work in bakery located inside an orphanage in africa and while you are there, you will all go to the middle of nowhere and tell some peeps about Jesus. sounds fun!!

You are great! I do still pray for you that you will do something uncomfortable and dangerous. I think any of those options fit you! I love you so much and want you to go for it! What “it” is, I don’t know!!!

I highly recommend Atlanta. Athens is cool, too. Uhhh…Africa…when would we see you? Surely Jesus wouldn’t want you to be away from your friends? (that’s a joke, c’mon.) The Atlanta bakery is my pick…since you asked.

As i read Chris’s comment i remembered something: my Grandparents met while working at the ATlanta bakery 58 years ago! They were married 3 months after meeting! So maybe baking AND a man are in atlanta for you like there was for them!
